Great photos, feels like being there, and deep thoughts as always. But as for American spiritual emptiness and decay, be very, very wary of people with solutions to that.

I am most definitely Not miserable. I rejoice in my life and my relationships daily

I am also minimally engaged politically and that is a big key

Look at who are the most active politically and you will find the most miserable people on the planet, no matter what they have. Why? Because they cannot be happy unless they can control everyone else behavior

Goes back to the Puritan ethos. Or even before that to the conquering and enslavement of others in the name of God

Some folk will only be happy if they can control others and make them even more miserable than they are. Wars and crimes are generally caused by desire for only one or more of: sex, power, wealth. You can add drugs to that as well
